Ashish Chanchalani Ekaki Web Series

India’s comedy king Ashish Chanchlani is all set to reinvent himself with his biggest project yet, “Ekaki.” The upcoming horror-comedy web series, written, directed, and produced by Chanchlani under his own banner ACV Studios, marks a bold new chapter in his creative journey.

Known for his hilarious sketches and relatable humour, the YouTuber is now moving into long-form storytelling with a mix of fear, fun, and emotion.

“Ekaki,” which translates to alone in Hindi, isn’t just the name of the show; it’s a reflection of Chanchlani’s own comeback story. After spending years making audiences laugh, he’s now stepping into a darker, more cinematic world, blending suspense and comedy in a way his fans have never seen before.

The series revolves around strange and spooky happenings inside an isolated mansion, exploring the themes of loneliness, fear, and friendship. The cast features familiar faces from the Ashish Chanchlani Vines universe:  Akash Dodeja, Harsh Rane, Sidhant Sarfare, Rohit Sadhwani, Shashank Shekhar, and Grishim Nawani, adding to the nostalgia for long-time fans.

Ashish unveiled the project with a haunting motion poster on Instagram, captioned: “Bas yaad rakhna… Ekaki mein reh kar bhi aap kabhi akele nahi rahenge.” The eerie visuals showed him holding a lantern, surrounded by ghostly hands, a clear sign that this isn’t the usual Chanchlani comedy but something deeper and darker.

The project also comes after a turbulent time for the YouTuber. Earlier this year, Ashish faced backlash and legal trouble following his “India’s Got Latent” roast show. The controversy pushed him to take a step back from the spotlight.

But instead of giving up, he channeled his energy into building something meaningful. “Ekaki,” he says, is both a creative and emotional reset, a way to rebuild himself and reconnect with his audience through storytelling.

Behind the camera, Chanchlani wore multiple hats, as writer, director, and producer, while overseeing everything from VFX and production design to marketing. In an interview with Dainik Jagran, he called the process “one of the most emotionally intense experiences” of his life, explaining that making his first web series required more discipline, patience, and empathy than he had ever known.

Staying true to his roots, Chanchlani has decided to release Ekaki for free on YouTube, keeping it accessible to his loyal audience who’ve supported him for years.

The official trailer drops on October 27 at 2:04 PM, as confirmed through a teaser released on October 22. There will also be fan screenings and live watch parties before the big premiere, giving the community a chance to celebrate the comeback together.

Industry watchers are already calling Ekaki a game-changer for India’s creator ecosystem. Outlets like The Indian Express and BuzzInContent have noted that Chanchlani’s move into long-format storytelling could inspire other YouTubers to explore full-fledged filmmaking without relying on OTT platforms.

Ekaki is being produced under ACV Studios, with Chanchlani leading both the creative and production teams. His social media updates have given fans glimpses into the filming process, showing the mix of excitement, fear, and determination behind the scenes.

For Ashish Chanchlani, Ekaki isn’t just a web series; it’s a second chance. A story about fear and laughter, but also about redemption and self-discovery. As he steps from in front of the camera to behind it, one thing is clear: this Diwali, Ekaki isn’t just going to entertain, it’s going to redefine what a YouTube creator can do.
