In a bold leap from sketches to satire, Purav Jha has dropped his latest short film, The Ba***ds of YouTube, on October 23, 2025. Produced under his own PJ Productions banner, this 28-minute cinematic ride brings together some of India’s biggest YouTube personalities, including CarryMinati, Ashish Chanchlani, Harsh Beniwal, and others, in a witty exploration of internet fame, rivalry, and the absurd realities behind digital stardom.
Jha, born August 11, 2001, in Delhi with roots in Bihar’s Madhubani, started out making comedy shorts on TikTok and Instagram. His breakthrough came when he portrayed “Kundan” in Harsh Beniwal’s viral sketch “PUBG with Family.”
Over time, he became a regular collaborator in Beniwal’s comedy universe, appearing in series like Shaadi Mubarak and Who Killed Jessica?. As his individual voice (and following) grew, Jha expanded into independent storytelling, earning over 1.2 million YouTube subscribers and 7 million Instagram followers.
The Ba***ds of YouTube is a self-aware, tongue-in-cheek satire about a young creator, Baba (played by Jha), trying to learn the ropes of fame from veteran YouTubers. But instead of easy wins, he finds ego clashes, algorithm traps, and behind-the-scenes absurdity.
CarryMinati appears as an over-the-top version of himself, Chanchlani jokes about movie budgets and content stress, and Beniwal plays a tough, mentor-like figure. Even Neon Man gets in on the fun with spoofed gossip segments that lampoon news channels’ obsession with influencer drama.
Fans responded fast. Within days, the video racked up over 2 million views, with many celebrating the video as 2025’s boldest YouTuber crossover. Media analysts have compared it to a “YouTube Avengers” moment, something never before seen in India’s digital space. Observers note that Jha’s move signals a larger shift: creator-owned cinematic experiments that transcend sketches and shorts.
Purav hinted at even more to come. In the post-credits, he teases a multiverse of future stories from PJ Productions, saying with a grin: “If Bollywood can have multiverses, YouTube India deserves one too.”
With ‘The Ba***ds of YouTube’, Purav Jha isn’t just making a funny video; he’s staking a claim. He’s carving a space where creators joke about algorithms, fame, and rivalry, all while building a shared universe of digital storytelling. In bringing India’s biggest YouTubers together, he’s also asking: what do we become when we truly see behind the screen?
