Popular Roblox gaming creator and digital entertainer Tappy, who manages a channel with over one million subscribers, revealed that his primary source of income was abruptly cut off following a sudden demonetization on December 24.
The creator, known for family-friendly gaming content, stated that he received no prior warnings or strikes before his channel was removed from the YouTube Partner Program. The move has effectively halted all revenue for his production team, which includes specialised editors and thumbnail designers.
Tappy described the incident as part of a broader technical failure within YouTube’s new artificial intelligence (AI) moderation system, which is designed to automatically flag content that violates advertiser-friendly guidelines.
According to the creator, he was invited to a private Discord server containing approximately 40 other high-profile Roblox YouTubers who faced identical issues on the same night.
While many peers have since had their monetization restored, Tappy remains one of the few creators still stuck in a technical limbo.
The situation escalated when Tappy’s attempts to use the official internal appeal tool resulted in recurring technical errors, preventing him from submitting a defense.
He noted that despite reaching out to the TeamYouTube support handle on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, he has received only automated or repetitive responses.
The creator expressed frustration over being told to “log out and log back in” rather than receiving a manual review by a human employee.
Aspiring creators should note that demonetization often occurs when a channel is flagged for “Reused Content” or “Ad-Suitability” violations, which can lead to a total loss of CPM.
Tappy emphasized that his content is strictly “all-ages” and does not contain profanity, making the automated flag particularly confusing. He warned that if his secondary channels are also targeted by this suspected bug, he may be forced to quit content creation entirely after an eight-year career.
Tappy has now launched a public campaign using the hashtag #FreeTappy to draw attention to the plight of smaller creators who may not have the platform to fight automated errors.
The creator remains hopeful that a human representative from YouTube will intervene to investigate the case manually. Tappy’s channel has been a staple in the Roblox community for years, consistently generating millions of views through collaborative gameplay and challenge-based videos.
