Indian pop-rock sensations Sanam Band released their much-awaited single ‘Badan Pe Sitare’, marking their official comeback after a year-long break from new music on YouTube. This reimagining of the Mohammed Rafi classic combines nostalgia with Sanam’s contemporary glam style, offering fans a meaningful tribute in a dazzling club setting.

Released on September 2, 2025, “Badan Pe Sitare” features Sanam Puri (vocals), Samar Puri (guitar), Venky S (bass), and Keshav Dhanraj (drums). The track is produced at Sanam Studios, Mumbai, with high-profile professionals like mastering engineer Chris Gehringer and mix engineer Ishan Naik, ensuring top-notch sound quality.

The video was filmed in Pune and showcases elaborate visual production, art direction, and wardrobe by leading industry teams.

The original song, penned by Hasrat Jaipuri and composed by Shankar–Jaikishan for the film “Prince” (1969), receives a respectful yet energetic treatment by Sanam, staying true to Bollywood’s golden age while appealing to new-gen fans.

Sanam Band has built a huge fanbase by reviving old Bollywood hits and writing catchy originals, but after their last release in 2024, the group intentionally paused frequent singles to focus on quality and live performances.

According to band member interviews with Mid-Day and Creative Yatra, Sanam’s philosophy has always been to “take our time, don’t rush music, and only release when it’s truly ready”.

During their hiatus, Sanam Band continued live performances, embarking on India tours across Ahmedabad, Pune, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and more, drawing thousands to their concerts while refining new music behind the scenes.

The break also saw the band emphasize original compositions, experiment with new sounds, and invest in deeper production standards.

Formed in 2010, Sanam Band rose to stardom with viral renditions of classics such as “Lag Jaa Gale,” “Gulabi Aankhen,” and “Kya Hua Tera Wada”. They are regularly listed among India’s top independent YouTube channels, picking up major awards including Best Music Content Creator (Social Media Summit & Awards 2017).

Sanam’s signature style is blending Bollywood’s retro charm with modern pop-rock arrangements. Their relaunch of “Badan Pe Sitare” not only pays tribute to Mohammed Rafi but reaffirms their place as cultural custodians for both young and old audiences.

Sources confirm Sanam Band continues to work on new originals and next-level covers. As Venky S shared, “We’re in no hurry, lots of new music is coming soon, and we want to be absolutely satisfied before it’s out”.

The band’s upcoming India and London tour dates, confirmed on concert platforms, promise fresh tracks and high-energy shows throughout 2025.
