Indian Vlogger Buys House in Japan

Popular digital sculptor and content creator Ajay Pandey has officially put down roots in Japan, unveiling his newly purchased three-story residence, “Pandey Niwas,” to his 430,000 YouTube subscribers.

The 35-minute house tour marks a significant personal milestone for the Osaka-based artist, symbolising a permanent shift from his childhood spent in temporary government housing in India.

The video serves as both a lifestyle showcase and an educational guide for aspiring immigrants. Pandey, who has lived in Japan for 11 years and works as a character artist in the video game industry, details the specific advantages of the Japanese housing market.

He highlights the staggering difference in lending rates, revealing he secured a home loan with an interest rate of just 0.59%, a figure drastically lower than current Indian mortgage rates.

“This is the first house where I will pay the loan and also live in it,” Pandey shares in the video, referencing his previous financial commitment of buying a retirement home for his parents in India that he never lived in.

He draws an emotional parallel between his father’s career in the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), where the family moved every few years between government quarters, and his own new stability.

The 4LDK property (Four rooms, Living, Dining, Kitchen) features amenities distinct to modern Japanese architecture. Pandey showcases a “smart” toilet with automated controls, floor heating systems (Yukadan), and specialised metallic shutters on windows for typhoon protection.

The ground floor houses the master bedroom and parking for his motorcycle, while the second floor serves as the main living area with an open kitchen.

For his creator workflow, Pandey has dedicated the entire third floor to a workspace. The level includes separate rooms for himself, his wife Tina, and their son Jay.

His personal studio is equipped with a sit-stand desk, pegboards for gear organisation, and a setup optimised for his dual career as a 3D artist and YouTuber. The space also addresses a common pain point for creators: acoustic separation, allowing him to record without disrupting the household.

Ajay Pandey, who originally moved to Japan at age 21, has built a loyal following by documenting the “Indian in Japan” experience, from motorbike travel on his Royal Enfield to cultural insights.

This latest acquisition underscores a growing trend of Indian knowledge workers leveraging global careers to build assets abroad, while transparently sharing the financial realities with their audience back home.
