Business influencer Dhaval Kataria breaks down 8 income streams for YouTubers

Business content creator and agency founder Dhaval Kataria revealed that he generated 1.2 crore in total revenue over the past year through a diversified portfolio of eight active and passive income streams.

Speaking to his audience of over 100K subscribers, Kataria provided a transparent breakdown of his earnings to educate aspiring creators on the financial realities of the creator economy in India.

The disclosure comes as a milestone celebration for his channel reaching the 100,000-subscriber mark, where he emphasized that his journey from a small room in his hometown to a multi-million rupee business was built on consistent skill development rather than short-term hacks.

The largest contributor to Kataria’s ₹1.2 crore annual revenue is brand sponsorships, which he rated as his most lucrative income source.

He explained that brands in India typically pay between 300 to 800 rupees per 1,000 views, depending on the creator’s niche.

Business and finance creators often command higher rates compared to entertainment channels. Kataria noted that while brand deals offer the highest returns, they also involve significant production costs, including payments to editors and specialized agencies that broker these deals.

Beyond direct sponsorships, Kataria operates a service-based agency that generates 1.5 lakh per month by managing YouTube strategies for other brands and creators.

This “bread and butter” income provides a consistent cash flow that is not dependent on the YouTube algorithm.

He also highlighted unconventional streams such as “anchoring,” where a brand pays him 1.25 lakh per month to be the face of their social media content without posting it on his own channels.

Additionally, he earns 1.2 lakh per deal for User-Generated Content (UGC) ads, which are relatable, creator-led advertisements designed for brands to run as paid media.

For beginners, Kataria identified YouTube AdSense as a vital source of passive income—money earned automatically from ads placed on videos.

While his AdSense earnings fluctuated between 30,000 and 60,000 rupees per month, he emphasized its long-term value, noting that a single video from six months ago still generates revenue today.

He also monetizes his expertise through one-on-one mentorship calls priced at 2,000 rupees and high-ticket content coaching sessions at 10,000 rupees per hour.

To manage this growing wealth, Kataria advised creators to use specialized savings tools to ensure their capital earns interest while they focus on building their businesses .

Dhaval Kataria is a prominent figure in the Indian “Build in Public” community, known for sharing tactical advice on freelancing and digital entrepreneurship.

His YouTube channel, which currently has over 100K subscribers, focuses on helping young Indians navigate the freelance market and the creator economy.

Before becoming a full-time creator and agency owner, Kataria spent four years honing his skills in content strategy and digital marketing, which now form the foundation of his consulting and agency services.
