Renowned Bollywood comedian and character actor Rajpal Naurang Yadav announced the launch of his official YouTube channel, marking a significant transition into the creator economy.
The veteran performer, celebrated for his iconic roles in films like Bhool Bhulaiyaa and Hungama, described the move as a fresh chapter in his three-decade career following his recent release on interim bail.
Yadav expressed his intention to use the digital platform to communicate directly with his global audience and provide clean, family-friendly entertainment suitable for all age groups.
The launch of the channel, titled Rajpal Naurang Yadav, comes just days after the actor was granted interim bail by the Delhi High Court on Feb. 16 in a long-standing 9 crore rupee cheque-bounce case.
Yadav had previously surrendered to Tihar Jail on Feb. 5 after failing to settle financial liabilities stemming from his 2012 directorial debut, Ata Pata Laapata.
By moving into the digital space, the actor joins a growing trend of mainstream Indian celebrities leveraging platforms like YouTube to diversify their reach and establish direct monetization.
In his debut video, the National School of Drama (NSD) alumnus urged his followers to support his new venture, calling it his “Digital Universe.”
He noted that while his voice and imagery have frequently been used across social media without his consent, he now seeks to own his narrative and provide high-quality content that improves the “blood circulation” of his viewers through laughter.
The actor emphasized that the channel is a collaborative effort with content head Sakett Saawhney, aimed at building a sustainable online presence that transcends traditional cinema.
Yadav brings a massive existing digital footprint to his new platform, including over 4.8 million followers on Instagram, where he remains a highly engaged influencer.
Throughout his career, which includes appearances in more than 250 films, he has earned numerous accolades such as the Screen Award and Yash Bharti Award.
Despite his recent legal and financial hurdles, the actor continues to be a mainstay in the industry, with his next major appearance scheduled for the upcoming film Bhooth Bangla alongside Akshay Kumar.
