Amit Bhadana, the iconic Indian digital creator, has officially teased the poster for his upcoming theatrical film ‘Paper Leak’ on social media, marking a major new leap from the web to the big screen. After the immense success of his student-focused web series ‘SSC’, Bhadana’s new film is set to bring relatable youth stories to cinemas nationwide
On September 7, his birthday, Amit surprised millions of fans by sharing the first poster for ‘Paper Leak’ on Instagram and X, calling it “a gift to my followers”. This marks Bhadana’s debut as a lead actor in a commercial film, produced by Saregama, which will be released in theatres later this year.
The film’s theme revolves around the emotional and social chaos caused by exam paper leaks, a story close to the hearts of Indian students.
Amit captioned the post: Janamdin ke shubh avsar par yeh tohfa meri taraf se aapko. “Paper Leak, My first theatrical film poster. Am I a student, or just part of the death of knowledge?” (Translated)
Bhadana’s recent web series, ‘SSC’, was a runaway hit, praised for its raw, real depiction of student struggles, especially those preparing for competitive exams like the SSC. Created in partnership with Adda247, SSC resonated with lakhs of viewers, showing the loneliness, determination, and personal stories behind big aspirations.
Amit’s own experience as an SSC aspirant, including failures and perseverance, inspired much of the series. The tagline, “Kar Jayenge Ya Ghar Jayenge”, has become a rallying cry for students nationwide.
The poster for Paper Leak, released around Bhadana’s birthday, brought a flood of gratitude and excitement from the student community:
One wrote, “SSC was our life story. Now, Paper Leak should be seen by every exam aspirant in India!” Another commented, “Paper Leak has a perfect poster. It hits where it hurts, the classroom!”
Amit Bhadana has built a digital empire with more than 24 million YouTube subscribers and 9.8 million Instagram followers. Known for his “desi” humour and relatable sketches, he’s now the first Indian YouTuber to headline a feature film.
His journey, starting in 2017 from simple comedy videos, is an example of the power of online creators in India’s new entertainment era.
In interviews with News18 and Hindustan Times, Amit shared, “Acting for films has always been my dream. I made YouTube films so the industry would notice what digital creators can do. Now, my challenge is to prove creators can shine on the big screen too.”
Paper Leak’ is expected to begin production soon, with more cast and crew details likely in the coming months. Amit Bhadana’s ambition is clear: to bridge relatable internet storytelling with mass-market cinema, and to motivate students amidst the chaos of exams.
