Amazon MX Player Challenges Shark Tank India With Bharat Ke Super Founders

Amazon MX Player officially entered the competitive startup reality television space with the launch of Bharat Ke Super Founders, a new series featuring a record ₹100 crore investment commitment, positioning the series as a data-driven alternative to the popular reality show Shark Tank India.

The program is led by veteran Bollywood actor and prolific angel investor Suniel Shetty alongside Dr. A. Velumani, the billionaire founder of Thyrocare Technologies.

This initiative aims to discover and fund high-potential startups from across India, positioning itself as a major destination for the country’s growing creator and entrepreneur economy.

The series distinguishes itself by the sheer scale of its financial backing, which is currently the largest dedicated pool of capital for an Indian entrepreneurial reality show.

In the first look at the series, Shetty and Velumani are seen vetting business ideas that range from regional grassroots innovations to scalable tech solutions.

The show emphasizes “capital infusion” and provides a platform for founders who may have been overlooked by traditional venture capital firms.

By offering a ₹100 crore commitment, the platform is directly challenging established formats like Shark Tank India. The show focuses on due diligence to ensure that the businesses receiving funds have sustainable long-term plans.

The producers have opted for a structure that prioritises business fundamentals over high-drama entertainment, targeting a more serious audience of aspiring business owners.

Shetty, who has spent over a decade investing in the health, wellness, and tech sectors, brings a unique blend of brand equity and business mentorship.

Joining him on the panel are other prominent figures, including Nitish Mittersain and Shanti Mohan, who provide expertise in business scaling. The teaser footage reveals that the ticket size can go as high as ₹12 crore for a single company.

The launch comes at a time when Indian audiences are increasingly interested in wealth creation and financial literacy. Bharat Ke Super Founders intends to educate viewers on equity dilution and how to pitch to professional investors.
