At a time when most people learn about money the hard way, Prateek Singh, founder and CEO of LearnApp, is making financial literacy simple, fun, and accessible to millions. His journey is nothing short of extraordinary, a self-taught trader who started at 17 and went on to build one of India’s most loved EdTech platforms for finance.

Today, LearnApp has over 200,000 registered users, a YouTube community of 3.25 lakh, and more than 35,000 paid subscribers learning everything from stocks to crypto to communication skills.

Additionally, he is the co-founder of Zero1 by Zerodha, a new-age media network that partners with quality creators and also runs its own channels hosted by Prateek Singh himself.

Born and raised in Delhi, Prateek’s story began with curiosity and frustration. As a teenager trying to understand how the stock market worked, he found that most financial advice online was either too complex or unreliable.

Determined to change that, he began trading, experimenting, failing, and learning, eventually building his own platforms like MarketScientist, TraderSaint, and TradeAcademy before co-founding LearnApp in 2018.

His idea was simple yet powerful, creating the “Netflix of Finance.” Instead of long, dull lectures, LearnApp offers visually rich, story-driven video lessons taught by real industry leaders. Users can learn about derivatives, commodities, and even the psychology of investing, all at their own pace.

What makes LearnApp stand out is its community-first approach. Backed by names like Nithin Kamath (Zerodha), Kunal Shah (CRED), and Tanmay Bhat, the company has reached over 60 million users and now works with top universities, investment firms, and fintech companies.

Unlike many EdTech startups chasing massive funding rounds, Prateek believes in building sustainably. LearnApp’s model focuses on affordable subscriptions, live workshops, and interactive sessions where learners can directly talk to experts.

In October 2024, the company hit a major milestone, a ₹1.7 crore ESOP buyback for its first 25 employees. It wasn’t just a business move; it was a message. Prateek wanted to show that growth isn’t only about scale, it’s about sharing success with the team that made it possible.

He often says, “A small group of people can do a lot if they stick together and stay with it for a long time.” This philosophy reflects how LearnApp operates: transparent, community-driven, and focused on quality over quantity.

Over the years, LearnApp has become more than just a video library. It’s a movement for financial confidence. Prateek, who also serves as an Executive Fellow at Woxsen University, has been helping students and educators bring financial learning into classrooms through practical, media-rich formats.

The platform has even run massive free live classes for 50,000 students, with businesses paying for access instead of learners. This “free-for-students” approach has been widely praised as a smart blend of accessibility and sustainability, education that scales without compromising value.

Prateek’s vision also extends beyond LearnApp. He frequently appears on podcasts like RAIN and Investment Blueprint and hosts the channel Zero1 by Zerodha, sharing practical financial insights and busting myths around wealth creation.

As the global conversation around money becomes louder, LearnApp represents a refreshing change, a space where learning about finance feels empowering, not intimidating. Publications like The CEO Magazine, Werisebyliftingothers, and TimesContent India have featured Prateek for redefining how Indians think about investing and education.

LearnApp’s success shows that financial literacy isn’t a luxury; it’s a life skill. And through storytelling, mentorship, and accessible tech, Prateek Singh has proven that anyone who is a student, homemaker, or working professional can learn to manage money smartly.

From his early trading days to running a company backed by India’s biggest entrepreneurs, Prateek’s story is a reminder that learning never stops. With LearnApp, he’s not just teaching finance, he’s teaching confidence, curiosity, and the power of staying invested not just in stocks, but in yourself.
