Alakh Pandey launches Earners platform to drive student employment

Alakh Pandey, the founder of the prominent Indian educational technology unicorn Physics Wallah, announced the launch of a new upskilling platform named Earners.

The platform is designed specifically to help students and aspiring professionals in India secure their first jobs by learning high-demand digital skills directly from their smartphones.

The initiative targets the growing creator economy by offering five specialized mobile-based courses including video editing, artificial intelligence (AI) and ChatGPT usage, YouTube content creation, Instagram and social media management, and graphic design.

Pandey emphasized that the curriculum is built for accessibility, acknowledging that many Indian students may not have access to laptops but possess smartphones.

To maintain affordability for his core audience of students, Pandey introduced a significant price reduction during the launch event.

While individual courses were initially priced at ₹999, they are currently available for ₹500 for a limited time.

A comprehensive bundle of all five mobile courses is priced at ₹1,000, offering a full year of access and certification upon completion of assignments.

The platform distinguishes itself by employing practitioners rather than traditional academics to lead the classes. The instructors include professional editors like Gyan, who manages high-profile video production for Physics Wallah, and Alankrit, who oversees a network of over 200 YouTube channels.

These mentors will share practical insights on how to monetize skills, navigate the algorithm, and build a professional portfolio to attract clients.

Pandey also addressed the competitive landscape of the Indian ed-tech sector, predicting that the low price point of Earners would disrupt existing players who sell similar creator-focused courses for significantly higher amounts.

He stated his vision is to empower students to earn a basic monthly income through freelancing (working independently for different companies) or entry-level roles in social media management.

The Earners platform is integrated within the existing Physics Wallah mobile application, making it accessible to millions of current users.

Classes are scheduled to begin on April 25, 2026, and will be held exclusively on weekends to accommodate students’ regular academic schedules.

Pandey also teased a future expansion, announcing that specialized courses for laptop users, including coding and data analytics, will be unveiled on April 15, 2026.

Alakh Pandey has built a massive following in India, with his main Physics Wallah YouTube channel boasting over 10 million subscribers.

Originally starting as a physics teacher on YouTube, Pandey’s company reached unicorn status by focusing on making competitive exam preparation affordable for students from small towns and rural areas.
