Saregama India Limited announced a major structured leadership transition at its subsidiary Pocket Aces, naming internal veteran Vinay Pillai as chief executive officer effective October 1.
Pillai, who currently serves as chief business officer at the Indian digital entertainment studio, succeeds co-founder, managing director, and current chief executive officer Aditi Shrivastava.
Shrivastava will step down from her executive role after leading the firm since 2021 to transition into a strategic position on the company board of directors.
The upcoming CEO brings six years of operating experience at Pocket Aces, having previously scaled its influencer talent arm Clout before taking charge of overall strategy and business operations.
A Columbia University graduate and former Booz Allen Hamilton consultant, Pillai also brings entrepreneurial experience from co-founding streaming startup Dekkho.
His appointment reflects a commitment by music giant Saregama India to promote internal talent following its acquisition of a majority stake in the media network.
Outgoing leader Shrivastava spearheaded the digital media network through several operational milestones, overseeing popular channels such as short-form comedy hub FilterCopy, long-form fiction studio Dice Media, and creator representation platform Clout.
Her executive tenure culminated in the 2023 buyout by RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group music label Saregama India. In her new board capacity, Shrivastava will focus on long-term growth initiatives while Pillai directs daily operations, brand partnerships, and platform syndication.
The leadership change comes as Indian content networks expand their footprint across short-form video monetization, brand integrations, and talent agency services.
Pocket Aces, which creates digital fiction and non-fiction for young adult audiences, will continue leveraging its creator distribution network to support organic music marketing campaigns for Saregama catalogue tracks.
The executive elevation positions the digital network to capture further growth across OTT syndication and advertiser-funded branded content.
