Dr. Christina Aaliyah Quits NHS To Launch YouTube Growth Agency

British medical professional and digital creator Christina Aaliyah announced her permanent resignation from the National Health Service (NHS) this week, citing systemic burnout and a desire to build a career in the burgeoning creator economy.

The 24-year-old doctor, who documented her journey through five years of medical school and 16 months of professional practice, revealed she is transitioning into a full-time role as a YouTube growth consultant for businesses and founders.

Aaliyah noted that the decision follows years of internal conflict regarding the sustainability of a medical career in the United Kingdom.

She explained that the high personal sacrifice of the profession no longer matched the professional rewards or emotional well-being she sought.

She detailed instances where the hospital denied basic leave requests for significant life events, such as her mother’s graduation and a friend’s wedding, due to chronic understaffing. This lack of work-life balance led to a cycle of depletion where she felt unable to recover between shifts.

Aaliyah also highlighted a grim outlook for medical professionals in the UK, pointing to a lack of job security and the current “math not mathing” for junior doctors. She noted that approximately 30,000 doctors applied for just 10,000 available training posts this year, leaving thousands at risk of unemployment.

This competitive bottleneck, combined with what she described as “propaganda” surrounding doctor strikes, influenced her realization that the government would not provide the lifestyle she envisioned for her late 20s.

Instead of pursuing a traditional medical path, Aaliyah is leveraging her five years of experience as a content creator to launch a specialized agency.

Her new venture focuses on YouTube growth, where she will coach founders and businesses on how to scale their presence on the platform.

She clarified that she does not intend to become a “full-time influencer,” a role she finds less appealing than the strategic side of media production and creative direction.

Aaliyah currently commands a significant digital audience, having built a community of over 100,000 subscribers while balancing her medical duties.

Despite having nearly 80,000 pounds in student debt, she expressed confidence in her pivot, citing her proficiency in video editing and social media management as viable fallbacks. She is currently residing with her mother to minimize overhead costs while she secures her first roster of agency clients.
