Tech Master Arvind Kharra YouTube Shorts Growth Strategy

Arvind Kharra, better known as Tech Master, recently sat down with the NewLearn podcast to decode his massive success on YouTube. The creator, who now commands a combined audience of over 31 million subscribers, shared the raw reality behind his viral shorts and high-budget long-form videos.

Tech Master currently runs one of India’s most popular shorts channels, Tech Master Shorts, with over 26 million subscribers, alongside his main tech channel, which has nearly 5 million subscribers.

Arvind started his journey during his final year of engineering in Bengaluru. Unlike many who wait for the perfect setup, he filmed his first few videos in a single take because he did not know how to edit.

He realised early on that technical mobile specs like “AMOLED screens” were boring to the average viewer, so he pivoted to storytelling. He treats every gadget like a character in a movie, visualising the final edit before he even turns on the camera.

The most shocking revelation from the interview was his current production budget. Arvind admitted to spending up to 8 to 10 lakhs on a single video, such as his recent project, where he built an iPhone from scratch.

He operates without a fixed budget, often spending whatever is in his bank account to achieve the highest quality possible. For him, the content matters more than the immediate return on investment (ROI).

He also shared a unique insight into his team culture. Despite being the face of the channel, Arvind competes with his own writers.

There is no hierarchy in his office; whoever writes the best script gets their video made. He proudly mentioned that in the last two months, he was the second-highest scriptwriter in his team, proving he is still deeply involved in the creative process.

For aspiring creators, Arvind’s advice is simple: just start. He believes that waiting for a “perfect” idea is a trap. He suggests making 50 to 100 videos just to learn the craft. He also warned that while Instagram offers faster fame, YouTube builds a loyal community that lasts longer.
