Independent Artist Talwiinder Creates Medieval Epic Using Google’s Flow AI

Popular Punjabi singer-songwriter and composer Talwiinder partnered with Google India to create a visually ambitious music video for his latest track, Dil Mera Part 2, using a new artificial intelligence (AI) filmmaking tool called Flow.

The collaboration aimed to demonstrate how independent creators can execute high-concept visual storytelling without the massive budgets traditionally required for cinematic productions.

The video features a complex medieval theme, including knights, castles, and supernatural elements, all generated through textual prompts and reference images provided to the AI.

Talwiinder, known for his unique blend of modern Punjabi music and high-fashion aesthetics, worked closely with filmmaker Bodhitya to bring the project to life.

The creative process began with a single painting by an artist named Sarthak, which the team used as a reference to build a 3D character of a knight in the medieval era.

By using Flow, an advanced video generation model built by Google, the team was able to bypass physical production constraints such as hiring 100 extras or filming in remote mountainous locations.

The tool works by taking textual prompts, specific written instructions describing a scene, and transforming them into high-definition video clips. For independent artists, this lowers the barrier to entry for creating professional-grade content.

Talwiinder noted that while he has previously released music with only simple cover art or short loops, tools like Flow allow artists to enhance their visuals significantly even if they lack the budget for a full-scale traditional shoot.

Bodhitya utilized advanced features within the AI software, such as the first-frame and last-frame control, to ensure specific narrative moments were captured accurately.

This included a pivotal scene where the protagonist is struck by an arrow, a shot that required precise movement and timing to match the peak of the song.

The filmmaker described the experience as a fluid conversation with the tool, which often added unexpected environmental details that enhanced the overall “crispiness” and detail of the final output.

Talwiinder, who has built a significant following with hits like Dhundhla and Gaah, expressed that his goal is to be a modern Punjabi teacher for a new generation of listeners. He believes that singing along to his songs helps global audiences connect with the language.

With over 1.5 million monthly listeners on platforms like Spotify and a rapidly growing YouTube presence, Talwiinder has become a prominent figure in the Indian independent music scene, frequently experimenting with fashion and technology to differentiate his brand.

The rise of AI filmmaking tools like Flow represents a shift in the creator economy, where the “limited by your imagination” mantra is becoming a technical reality for solo creators.

As more artists adopt these technologies, the industry expects a surge in high-quality visual content from the indie sector, which previously struggled to compete with the production values of major record labels.
