Popular DevOps educator and tech influencer Abhishek Veeramalla officially introduced his new startup, Esc Bash, a platform dedicated to practical, hands-on learning for cloud and infrastructure engineers.
The announcement comes exactly one year after Veeramalla resigned from his full-time corporate position in April 2025 to pursue independent content creation and entrepreneurship.
Esc Bash aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application by providing users with browser-based labs that require no complex local setup or prerequisites.
The platform is structured around three core pillars: lessons, tasks, and challenges. Lessons are designed to introduce concepts through practice, while tasks test the learner’s ability to apply what they have acquired.
The challenges section is specifically built to simulate high-pressure, real-time scenarios that DevOps and cloud engineers face in corporate environments.
Veeramalla described the platform as a “checkmate” to the common difficulties students face when trying to clear technical interviews or certifications.
Esc Bash distinguishes itself from existing educational giants like Udemy or Coursera by focusing exclusively on laboratory environments rather than video-based lectures.
While Veeramalla confirmed he will continue to host video content on his YouTube channel, the startup will serve as a specialized lab environment for skills including Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and GitHub Actions.
To foster a competitive and supportive ecosystem, the platform will feature a global leaderboard, community support via Discord, and official certifications upon the completion of specific skill paths.
The journey to launch has not been without significant hurdles, as Veeramalla revealed he failed three times over the past year to bring the platform to market. Previous iterations struggled with performance issues and the ability to scale the underlying infrastructure.
After intensive testing, the founder confirmed that the fourth version of the platform is stable, allowing users to spin up lab environments with all necessary packages pre-equipped.
Abhishek Veeramalla, who has built a massive following in India by simplifying complex cloud architecture, views EscBash as the missing piece for aspiring engineers who struggle with scenario-based interview questions.
The official public launch is set for May 11, 2026. In the interim, the founder plans to share regular progress updates across his social media channels to prepare his audience for the onboarding process.
