Iqlipse Nova, real name Deepanshu Raj, has become one of India’s most relatable and loved independent musicians, but his journey didn’t begin in a recording studio. It began in the classrooms of IIT Delhi, where a young engineering student from Bihar dared to follow his heart.

From creating content alongside influencers like BeerBiceps (Ranveer Allahbadia) at BigBrainCo to producing viral songs that now define a generation, Nova’s story is one of courage, creativity, and self-discovery.

Born and raised in Bihar, Deepanshu was the definition of a “nerdy topper.” After excelling in his CBSE board exams, he cracked the prestigious IIT-JEE and enrolled at IIT Delhi for a dual degree. While his peers focused on corporate placements, he found himself drawn to content creation and storytelling.

In 2021–22, he joined BigBrainCo, an edutainment startup co-founded by BeerBiceps. The platform combined education, motivation, and pop culture, giving Nova his first taste of digital fame. He helped produce videos that blended entrepreneurship, life lessons, and youth culture, a mix that would later shape his songwriting.

Despite a promising digital career, Nova couldn’t ignore his growing love for music. While working on content and running his own YouTube vlogs, he began writing songs late at night in his hostel room.

His lyrics, which are raw, reflective, and rooted in personal struggle, captured what many young Indians felt but couldn’t express: the pressure to succeed, the fear of failing, and the search for meaning in chaos.

In 2022, he made a bold decision to go all-in on music. That leap changed everything. His breakout song, “Mera Safar,” went viral across YouTube, Instagram Reels, and Spotify, staying on the Spotify Viral India charts for weeks.

The song’s emotional depth and relatable lyrics made it an anthem for students and creators dealing with self-doubt and life’s uncertainties.

As Nova later explained in interviews, “Mera Safar isn’t about success, it’s about the journey itself. I wrote it when I was lost in college, and it helped me find peace.”

After Mera Safar, Nova’s rise was unstoppable. He released more hits like “Khwab,” “Meri Baari,” “Savera,” and “Dil Besabar,” each blending gentle pop melodies with introspective rap. His songs soon found their way into Spotify and iTunes playlists, Sony Music features, and millions of YouTube streams.

Yet, what truly sets Iqlipse Nova apart is his independent spirit. He continues to release most of his music on his own, collaborating with fellow indie artists instead of signing away his creative freedom.

His time at BigBrainCo taught him how to understand audiences, and he now uses that insight to connect directly with fans through social media and small “unplugged” performances.

Unlike creators chasing trends, Nova builds his brand around honesty, mental health awareness, and storytelling. On Instagram and X (formerly Twitter), he often interacts with fans personally, sharing snippets from his songwriting process and behind-the-scenes glimpses of his music journey.

He believes in creating for connection, not clicks, a mindset that keeps his fanbase loyal and ever-growing.

Deepanshu Raj’s journey from IIT Delhi to independent music stardom is well-documented. He co-founded BigBrainCo, collaborated with BeerBiceps, and now dominates digital charts with songs that speak to millions.

Despite occasional rumors about major label takeovers, he maintains full creative control over his work, even when collaborating with big distributors like Sony Music.
