DD News, India’s public service broadcaster and most credible news network, has launched a new initiative titled Creator’s Corner to integrate independent digital content into its national television programming.
The platform invites original content creators to showcase their work on traditional TV screens while retaining full credit for themselves and their respective digital channels.
This move marks a significant shift for the state-funded broadcaster as it seeks to bridge the gap between social media influencers and mainstream television audiences across the country.
The network is specifically looking for high-quality video content that ranges from 1.5 minutes to 12 minutes in duration. To ensure the content is compatible with broadcast standards, DD News requires all submissions to be in Full HD resolution with a 16:9 aspect ratio, which is the standard widescreen YouTube format.
By providing a platform on national television, the broadcaster offers creators a level of prestige and reach that often eludes digital-only platforms.
Submissions are open across a wide variety of genres, including news and current affairs, culture, travel, cuisine, art, literature, music, and dance. The initiative also welcomes educational content focusing on health, education, the environment, and positive human-interest stories.
This broad range of categories allows diverse creators, from rural vloggers to urban tech reviewers, the opportunity to have their voices heard on a national scale.
DD News emphasized that only original content will be considered for the Creator’s Corner segment. This policy is designed to protect intellectual property and ensure that the individuals appearing on screen are the rightful owners of the footage.

Founded in 2003, DD News is the only 24-hour terrestrial news channel in India and operates under Prasar Bharati, the country’s largest public broadcasting agency.
With a massive reach into rural areas where internet penetration may still be developing, the channel provides creators with access to millions of viewers who do not regularly consume content on apps like Instagram or YouTube.
This initiative follows a growing global trend of traditional media outlets partnering with the creator economy to stay relevant with younger demographics.
